This rcmp "re-interpretation" of the antique laws(which are in fact unusually clear and susinct) governing what is considered legal antique status ... has now become brand new mountie "policy" to the contrary.

SOR/98-464 has not changed. Because antiques - unlike "non restricteds" - are defined in law, the RCMP's scuzzy FRT changes without modification of the law isn't worth squat.
    In a nutshell.
If an antique revolver was first made in a cal. that is on that silly "no go" list, as of now the rcmp says it can no longer be converted to a cal. that is not on the "no go" list and thereby become perscribed antique status.
Now a restricted. Or, if under 4" barrel .. a prohib?.
And what happens .. if you don't happen to have RPAL or 12X????? for those affected guns in your safe ...

So for now, its just talk, and the amnesty has been reduced from five years to two years. Pathetic from a party with a majority.

We need to tell our PMs, Minister of public safety, and Prime Minister that if C68 and C17 don't go, they will !!!!!!!
Wow did not know the amnesty was reduced to two years, that's sick. It think it time to let the PC party know that if they do not do some thing that we will not vote for them. considering this happened on their watch and was signed by the minster, its time to let them know they either work for us or we will vote them out, and we should actually vote them, might sting to to see the liberals in there but at least they will know we mean business and perhaps they would listen to us in the future.

The key word here is unreasonable. These firearms were arbitrarily reclassified after thousands of Canadians legally purchased them.

I agree that if someone is in possession of illegally obtained prohibited weapons the RCMP should seize them. That makes sense and helps to keep citizens safe.

However these guns we are talking about are not fully automatic or WMDs or any more dangerous than any other semi auto hunting rifle and were above all purchased legally and thus should remain the legal property of the owner. What's next? Shall we allow shotguns to be reclassified? A 12 gauge pump with a tube full of 00 buck is far more dangerous than a semi auto small caliber rifle limited to 5 rounds.

As you know currant laws do nothing to reduce crime, so go after those that NEVER break the law and make it look good.

Actual hardware stores will soon be closed as people both good and bad should not be able to buy metal, springs, wood, ,milling tools, files, micrometers, bolts, nails, tin sheets, welding equipment, etc.

My plan is to completely strip the lower and pound it into a pancake with a sledge hammer with only the serial recognizable.

Put the liberals in there and you better find another hobby. Remember they are being led by a man who said he admires china and how they can accomplish things with their dictatorship. I don't like a lot of what is going on but come on, if the CPC loses to the liberals or the NDP we are going to be in a world of hurt we won't be able to get back from with our sport and property.

The firearms in question should not have been deemed prohibited in the first place, so I'd say seizing them is quite unreasonable.

We need to keep this front and center. Many of the threads about letter writing etc have already disappeared from the forefront of CGN. We cannot be complacent.. keep up the pressure or *YOUR* guns are next! Do not stop sending letters & emails.
Enjoying your freedom? Thank A Soldier !!!

You say nobody needs an AR15? Well nobody needs a whiny little b*tch either yet here you are!
