no, not at all, we are all fighting it by putting pressure onto those so called "representatives" of ours but if they throw us under the bus, I'm not gonna sit here, cry and say I didn't see this coming. Keep in mind, gun industry has historically adapted very quickly to sick-minded laws. Just look at those pistol barrels protruding from slides which moves them out of prohib to restricted. Kel-Tek Sub 2000, JR carbines and so on, all with original 16" barrels, well, the manufacturers built batches specifically for Canadian market to make them NR. In some of the states AR's have pistol grips incorporated into the solid non-adjustable stocks to make them look less evil. Of course it is perverse to see the gun manufacturers understand the letter of the law better then our politicians but governments are mostly dumb and their main operating principle is deception. We must fight this, no doubt but I have no illusions about the "goodness" of hearts of our ellites.

    You still don't get it!
Welcome to Kanada - POLICE STATE in every sense of the word.
We might as well fire the 400 or so MPs and sell off the Parliament buildings and real estate.
    They are totally irrelevant.
The invisible Liberal Bureautocracy is running the show behind the scenes and they have their own secret police called the RCMP.

Isn't that exactly what it looks like.

Every 4 years we go through a ritual called an election and pick another bunch of charlatans, liars and thieves to fill the seats in the House of Commons (and their pockets) but the day to day affairs of the country are run by an unelected Bureautocracy that has decided to usurp the authority of Parliament. That's what happeneing before your very eyes right now but too many heads are buried in the sand to see what's going right in front of their faces.

That big fat tub of lard Mike Duffy is the perfect personification of a Canadian politician.

This is entirely doable. They have a problem with converted receivers: we make new receivers and reuse the other parts. They only have the power to ban 'converted autos'.

Never hand in a functional receiver. The RCMP can just add it to their inventory for their own use.

Apparently an MP signed off on this...

I have already written my MP expressing my outrage and asking for a disinterested third party organization composed of experts to examine firearms.

By the way, this situation is garbage but let's not get carried away with the police state garbage.

When failing is no option, having a ''plan B'' is sometimes not enough. It's not admiting defeat, it's preparing for all possible options in a risk assesment type of project. So that in mind, plan ''C'' and ''D'' should be considered also
