Liking the 9mm options. Pity that the Omega is a fair chunk more then the Enhanced. Is it worth the premium for a casual shooter who just wants a good out of box experience with no further upgrades planned, in your opinion?

In all honesty you really can't go wrong with either choice. I'm a fan of the Enhanced myself, but I like my pistols fairly KISS.

Would it have killed them to make the GI Commanders barrel shorter so it doesn't look like a reclassified 12.6. Not like we can screw on a suppressor anyways.

If the stainless thunderbolt went on sale I'd be all over it.

I bought my SAM 1911A1 Military from Wolverine over a year ago. Theres not a ton of info on them but for anyone hesitating to pull the trigger I recommend just doing it. I've shot over 2,000 rounds (not a lot by some standards) without a single failure whatsoever using Norinco FMJ Non-Corrosive crate ammo. They're a stellar pistol. I eventually had a problem with the thumb safety breaking off and contacted Wolverine about it. No questions asked they sent me the replacement part free of charge.

Even with that minor hiccup I would definitely buy another. All guns need part replacing eventually so I don't hold that against SAM.

The revised pricing makes good guns ever better. There was talk about the prices on these going up which would have made them less competitive but this lower pricing is a welcome development.

This thread needs a picture. LOL.

I love my Omega 6 9mm. I think it was worth the extra at $650, even better now! Will be ordering my Thunderbolt even sooner now.
Thanks Wolverine.

Thanks for the honest assessment. I like simplicity myself. Good sights, good trigger, reliable, and I'm happy.

I'm a left hander with big mitts and long fingers. I shoot an SR1911 now, with some degree of competency. I was thinking of a 9mm 1911 because none of the modern type 9mms are big enough for me to hold properly, especially with regards to having too little reach to the trigger.

The omega looks like it has a longer trigger than the enhanced. Is this the case?

I'm just trying to justify the pistol that I like the looks of best ;)

Think I'm going to have to wait for a sale, though, or at least until I sell my Beretta-ish (clone)
