we need the old ar10, not the ar15 variant. Also, the upper and lower are the easy parts. it is the rest we really would need to make a go of it.

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future."
Adolf Hitler, 1935
Thirty years ago I had one of the originals, presumably a Sudanese model because the markings were in Arabic. All I can remember now is FTEs about every tenth round. Weak extractor. When it did work, it deposited all the cases in a neat pile over my right shoulder.
I had it for only a short time and had no experience with other military rifles to compare it with. Liked it; didn't trust it.

Already have a job, but thanks for the tip. It seems to me if other people can wish for cheap 50 cal rifles and revolvers by Norinco, I can dream a little too.
In any case, I see on one well-known importer's site that DPMS .308 AR-style rifles can be had for $1200-1500, so maybe that is more doable than wishing for a Norc.
The whole thing about Norinco is that if allows me and others to have guns we might otherwise simply not bother with. If my only choice for an AR-15 was something costing in the neighbourhood of $1000, I'd find another place to spend my money. For $600, I can splurge a bit on a gun to satisfy a casual curiosity and interest....all thanks to CanadaAmmo and Norinco.

the tyrant to whom they concede the armed monopoly of their protection." -- Pierre Lemieux [LIBERTY Magazine Nov. '97]
