Sometime I want to save the trip and the gas and be able to see what you have online, order it and be done with it. I do 99% of my buying this way. Two hour round trip or more is not cost effective as compared to shipping. I do like to come in and drool in the store once in a while and enjoy the great service provided at P&D Enterprises however! Got my RPAL in June and was in there the next day! Good people there!

Do you pet the dog that walks himself up and down the isles? When im at the inlaws over an hour away the first thing i do is go there. You should consider yourself lucky its only an hour away.

they do religiously update their website on mondays, new feature and pricing on sale items, i managed to get a rossi m92 very very quickly when it was posted before they sold out.......seems like alot must view the site, because they were sold out hours after i got mine.......i don't see the issue, its easy to navigate, has all their firearms on it

It's pretty p!ss poor. I asked Dianne about it once and she got a pretty frosted look on her face. I don't think she likes it much. Excellent store though.

Yes I like the dog and we are okay but he is a little leery when there is to many people around!

The issue is I cannot purchase anything over the internet as they have no online purchasing. I can't click on said firearm and add it to my shopping cart, input credit card info and have it shipped for my convenience to my home.

not having a modern website with built in ecommerce capabilties is costing them business. thats a fact. it is an investment retail businesses have tomake.

auracle thank you for getting the point of my thread! P&D in indeed losing out on a lot of potential business not doing on line sales. This is how business is done now! I don't want to phone using long distance to do a sale on something I do not know is in stock. I would like to go to P&D Enterprises website see an item that is actually in stock, click on add to cart, input credit card information and complete my purchase. Sometimes I am needing something but I am on a stretch at work and don't have two plus hours for a trip to P&D Enterprises. Sometimes it would be more cost effective to just have a small item shipped as opposed to driving especially with gas prices continuing to rise.

They pride themselves on being a family based customer service business doing business in the traditional face to face manner and I love them for it! However it is 2014 and successful product based businesses today also have a warehouse and shipping center for on line sales. I know it is a logistics nightmare initially needing to be planned and organized, that needs to be staffed, managed and ran but it would pay its investment ten fold at least. Take one or two of the top P&D younger but savvy staff members and cut them loose on the project. Hire a talented web designer to design a proper point of sale website at surprisingly low investment for the return. Phil and Dianne could just work when they feel like it but otherwise sit on a lawn-chair at their favourite beach, maybe do some actual shooting and do a surprise inspection regularly. It makes sense to me and they both need to enjoy the fruits of their labors. I suspect Phil is a hands on guy and Dianne is wanting more and more to hang up the work shoes! I say go for it, they deserve it! Let your investment work for you, not the other way around!

You are lucky you have something to do besides hang out with the in-laws! :)

Ive debated adressing this issue as well. I always liked P&D but they have lost business from me because I cannot buy something at 2am when I wake up from a Rambo dream and feel the need to buy a case lot of .223

Milarm's site is the same kind of late 90's simple web-design, maybe its an Edmonton thing. Whoever gets a modern website together first is going to take a big market share. You guys have a great inventory but without phoning and waiting on hold it is hard to know if you have what I need.

One of the main reasons I don't order more from them is their website, as it is just not set up for selling stuff over the internet.

That being said they did have EOTechs in stock during the USA gun scare. That purchase went very smoothly, and everything after ordering was absolutely fantastic.

Just the extra step of having to email to see what they have in stock, and then if it is a model you were not looking at previously you would have to go research it. (I found myself using a competitor's website which was out of stock of that item...)

Keep up the good email/phone service, and just try and step up the web store.

I like that they actually update, unlike the pi$$poor excuses for websites the two Calgary site sponsors have.

I do wish P&D would do EMT tho..

P&D is great!

So far I have bought LAR-15 mags x 2 and 500 rounds of AE223 black box. Great friendly service at the front counter. Luckily I can round trip drive there in 15 minutes!! =]

TL;DR : P&D is great

Boy do you have that backwards as Dianne is the clear boss and driving force of our business and I want to take more time off work. Thanx for the feedback on our store and website. I have been away most of the past month as we just moved to a new house and there was much to do on my part. We are a traditional gun store with the vast majority of our sales going hand to hand and a much smaller number going out mail order. A new website is in the plans for this year but so much of our resources have been spent finding and buying inventory (thats why we have so much in stock while others are out) that we have had little time to develop a better site. Edmonton is a very competitve retail environment with lots of box stores, ranges and smaller retail gun stores however the greater Edmonton are is over 1 million people. We currently employ 24 staff on top of the four owners who are in the store most days. In the future we may have to change our model to a fullfilment house based on a strong website and reduce or eliminate our store front to keep competitive. So far however our current model is working well as sales our up every month. Sales will dictate when and where our business will go. Phil.

Hey Phil, 2 questions:

1-Can you open a store in Calgary, please!

2- EMT? I would impulse buy waay more often. ;)

Please don't close the store front. I love stopping in when I am in Edmonton. If the website was geared for web commerce however I would be able to spend more money with your business.

I live at most 20 minutes away, but a combination of the hours, and ease of online shopping from other retailers keeps me from shopping at P&D as much as I could.

I order most of my ammo online now, as I know what is in stock, I know what the price is, and the item arrives in well under a week. If I could do this from P&D, I'd buy more from them. Same with optics.

I don't need to talk to a sales person on 95% of my purchases, I know what I want, and just want an easy and simple purchase.
