my chinese sks was so packed with grease that it took 2 days to clean, and another day with the stock.
spent a week in the oven to bleed the grease, a few dishwasher runs, and then a week to oïl...
will never do that again.
Yeah, the stock on the Chinese SKS is pretty full of cosmoline. I've been using a heat gun to get it to sweat out the cosmoline. Pretty slow going. My Russian SKS was way easier to clean. For the Chinese one I had to break out a bucket of simple green, a heatgun , lots of shop towels, tooth picks, q-tips. Took about 3 hours. Came out super clean by the end...just the stock left to finish.
I enjoy firearms and firearm accessories.
Picked up two last year. Have to say "they were really nice 1951 Tula hardwoods and pre cleaned as good as it gets". Hope you enjoy yours as much as I like mine.

Awesome. Everyone should have an SKS, if for no other reason , just because they can !
When all else fails, Bark like a dog !
Congrats… I had no idea there were people out there that didn't have an SKS..Welcome to the fun zone

Put the round thru again and it fired it lol...

You will love it :-)
