    Same here. I have optics on my other tactical rifles and never felt the need to have optics on my 858.
    The screws and fugly appearance of the reciever/rail really turn me off.

    I wonder if they'd consider offering a model which utilizes the old 858 dust cover or something similar.

    I'd be all over that..

    Question: Does this rifle a "top ejector" like the old 858's? Or does it eject cases to the right due to the new (railed) top? I thought that this top could also act as a case deflector into the design.

    How are these rifles (858/VZ) on brass for us reloaders? Does it dent them much on ejection?

    It ejects them out the side and quite far.

    Only shot steel cases out of them and didn't actually go and pick any up to look.
