Upcoming Course "Basic Pistol" 27 September

We are holding a “Basic Pistol” course Saturday the 27th of September/

Location: Lower Trent Valley Fish and Game Association
1808 Fish and Game Club road
Frankford ON

Timings: 0800 to 1600hrs

Fee: 275.00 plus tax

Payment: EMT, cash or check( check must be received 4 business days in advance)

This course will cover;

Safe handling, storage and transport as per RCMP guidelines;
Mechanical operation of the pistol;
Position and Hold;
Aiming and marksmanship principles;
Target selection and position for safe operation;
Sight management/recoil management;
Immediate action drills for stoppages;
Load/ ready and make safe;
How to safely use a holster; and
Equipment selection and recommendations.

All equipment, tragetry and ammunition are supplied. The course is held
at the Lower Trent Valley Fish and Game club in Frankford Ontario.

Each student will use a Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm for all aspects of the
course.

The course is laid out so that you will have three hours of in class
theory lectures and four hours of live training on the range. Each
Students will be allotted a minimum of 300 rounds of ammunition with more
available if necessary. There will be an hour allocated for lunch.

Students will need to bring and food and drinks they will require for
the day. There are several restaurants and a convenience store within
five minutes of the facility.

This course is highly recommended for people who are new or relatively new to pistol shooting that would like some formal instruction on how to safely operate a pistol. Even people who have been shooting for a couple years on their own will find this a very useful course. This course is deigned to give the fundamental skills necessary to safely and effectively shoot all types of pistols.

There are still spots available for this course on the 27th. This will be one of the last outdoor courses. In the winter months we move course indoors to the Huntsville Pistol and Revolver Club in Huntsville Ontario.
