Well, we were hoping customs would clear the paperwork early so Wilson Combat could ship these up before the holidays caused the border to grind to a halt but it looks like we're going to get them January instead. The long and short of it is that Wilson purchased Scattergun Technologies some years back and proceeded to build an 870 to suit the US Border Patrol's service shotgun requirement, winning the contract to supply their special tactics teams and border patrol mounted officers in the process. The Border Patrol model is built to the same specifications, by the same Wilson/Scattergun smiths, in the same production as the US Border Patrol service contract shotguns. These are, other than the acceptance/property stamps, the same shotguns being issued along America's sovereign borders. They're exceptionally durable and they run wet, filthy, sandy, muddy, or dry. They're also perhaps the smoothest/slickest service shotguns available on the market currently in terms of the slide action.

They're actually exceptionally popular, and you're absolutely welcome to come by our shop any time to handle one and see what makes them worth $1449.99! It's pretty comparable to most of the high-end combat pumps in price after the modifications are factored in, to say nothing of the smithing.

i had one of these and out of box you will not find a better 870. now you can get an old 870 wingmaster and pimp it out but if you want out of box awesomeness in a 870, this is the best on the market. the 870 police max with the surefire front end costs the same and is not as good as ive owned one of those as well and it was pickey with ammo and the action was not near as smooth. i do think this shotgun is pricey but all things with the wilson combat name arw not cheap. i did a thread on this with pics of the package you get if you wish to search for it. it comes with some extras like a nice wilson combat carry bag, dog tags etc...
