The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was that the grip angle was designed for shooting off-hand and would not lend itself well to prone shooting. I asked the Magpul representative if they planned on releasing a precision version with a different grip angle and he confirmed that it was in the works, but didn't have a timeline for delivery.

I then inquired if they planned on releasing a .223 version of the magazine. Unfortunately, he said they had no plans to do so in the near future. Their 308 AICS-compatible magazine has a neat feature; it comes as a 5 round magazine. However, the follower is notched and the tip can be broken off to allow a 6th round to be loaded. In many state, there is a 5 round limit for hunting.

I will be waiting to see the precision version. Not sure if I want to give up the ultra light bell & carlson stock for it, but I want mag capability so bad!

The mag well is NOT included? This seems like it would be integral to the stock. No magazine included?

How does the stock compare to the comfort of the AI stock? I would be looking for something in the precision side of things and in .223. I was looking at the AI one but a grand is hard to swallow at this time. Three hundred-ish is very attractive.

This stock is geared towards hunters, not precision rifle shooters. Most will be happy to use an internal magazine.

Apples to oranges... it's not intended to be a precision stock. It's for hunters.
