John, you state the ammo is 7.62X51 so I assume it is not .308?

Rifles chambered for the 7.62X51 should not be fed .308 since there is a difference between these two.

Dear God! This has been beat to death on this site over the years. The difference between .308 and 7.62x.51 boil down to nothing in the end. I and many others on here have fired thousands of both of these rounds through our M14's, Garands, M305's....no issues. Biggest diff is a harder primer in the NATO rounds. Fire away!
