Just saw this yesterday when talking about it to one of the local Cabela's dealers that wants it for his Savage, and love how it looks. Would this be a possible add on for a M1A?

If you don't care about having a front sight, sure, it could work.

Our brakes are designed for 30/33 calibers so not a problem to shoot 7mm (.284) in them.

The shaping of the brake reminds me of the head on a driver. Novelty golf clubs anyone?

I've been looking to re-brake my 700P MLR 338LM and I like the features of this brake. But before I make the jump I was hoping someone who is using this brake could comment on its effectiveness?

I ask, because I have watched a few videos on youtube with guys running them on 308's and 338's. To be honest it doesn't look like the brake is doing anything for the 308's. The recoil appears to be fast and a little harsh. Odd I know, maybe it's just the camera angle? And then in the videos with the 338 it appears to be very effective. I know the videos I watched were prone for the 308's and bench for the 338's. I don't understand what I am seeing and I would really appreciate some user based feedback as I am not yet convinced.

I have one on the same rifle: the brake does the job well. Despite how big it looks in the pictures it compliments the rifle nicely tool. Mine is in OD and the finish has held up without issue. You will be happy with the brake.
