Couple of good reviews there, thanks
Had some skep about the wood stock and blued steel and no crf on a utility rough and tumble rifle that may be used to defend our borders.
Traditional, yes, and CZ quality may trump the minor quirks.

Never say 'whoa' in the middle of a mud hole.
This is the rifle that CZ entered into the Ranger Rifle competition, but for all intent and purposes it meets the definition of a Scout rifle as put forward by Col Jeff Cooper. A great rifle with a great and versatile setup. If you're looking at the Carbine/Scout type setup, all of them that I've seen on the market are quite good. Talking with some people that were involved in the Ranger Rifle selection, this rifle did very well in the trials.
Stop me if this is a stupid question...
My buddy just bought a new CZ Ranger Rifle in .308 and his front fiber optic sight is canted (pointed at a downward angle)... that seemed strange to me. Is it supposed to be like that??? This is a pic of the model rifle from the web, it also has the rod pointed at a downward angle. We were both looking at each other confused.
The one on my Fabarm is straight, same as the Shadow.
That 10 rd mag will dig into your back unless you sling it upside down belly forward. My CZ527 does although I love the gun.Harold
For the price a combo 5 round mag with the 10 would be....... appreciated......
Our Government trusts rivets more then law abiding gun owners.
Front sight is supposed to be that way. Love this rifle. It will be passed down to my son. Agreed, a 5 round mag would be nice in addition to the 10...but the 10 just looks so dang good! Not sure if this is truly a scout type rifle, as the scope mount is styled to accept a regular scope, and not be used in the "both eyes open" way that a scout scope mount allows.
To update my previous post, the bolt is now much smoother after 100 rounds.
I removed the see thru scope mounts as they didn't allow enough of a field of vision and to see what was coming into my sightlines (created too narrow a sightline) replaced with QD rings and am happy. I also went with the Buckmaster 4-12.
Still my favourite rifle, I think.
Agreed, the wood could be better finished in a more durable finish.

So these are now $300 cheaper than when they came out?
Wow you don't see prices going down very often.
$1200 is very tempting...
Gorgeous rifle... my buddy left it for me to mount a scope.
