No, this is pretty much like all the others, but cheaper.

If I put this inside a hollowed out pumpkin and shot said pumpkin, would it explode?
Can it be activated with a .22LR?

Original Tanerite will cause fires just like any others, its the nature of the beast. Ask me how I know. Lol

None will start fires if used appropriately in the right conditions, but in dry conditions or with miss-use, they are all very capable of starting fires.

The instructions on my Gryphon binary targets says rimfire most likely wont work, as with most pistol rounds. It recommends rifle rounds if you want to avoid "partial explosions" Which I have experienced.

I had a chance to try out some of the prototype, and it will definitely start a fire if you nick the edge of the bag and get a partial det.
BE CAREFUL with the tinder dry forests!
I found that by rolling the top of the ziplock bag down tight like rolling a toothpaste tube, then taping it in place, then laying it on its side to expose the base, it popped more reliably.

Great to see it officially released. More choices for the consumer.
