Magwedge SKS XDMR Installation Instructions
1. Remove original mag release
This will required disassembly of the rifle and removal of the trigger group. The original MR is held in by a single pin which must be pressed out. On some rifles this is a relatively easy process, but sometimes these can be welded in place. In my experience Russian rifles tend to be a bit easier to work on.
2. Install XDMR
Just replace the original MR with the XDMR by sliding it into the trigger group and replacing the pin. Make sure that the spring guide is set inside the spring.
3. Adjust spring guide to desired length.
Use a T6 driver to adjust the set screw (spring guide). When the set screw is set flush with the body of the XDMR, release and insertion of mag will be the most difficult. As the set screw is run out, release/insertion requires less force.
4. Assemble rifle and test latch
This is self-explanatory. You may wish to put a little non-permanent lock tight on the set screw when you have found the “sweet spot” to avoid the set screw walking out of your desired location.
The first 50 of these have now sold.
We will leave the sale price at $39.95 until the 15th of September, at which point we will increase it to the regular price point, $49.95
