    Hot Damn indeed!!. that was great. Again thanks to Lovie and Yoav . TVPP deserves a lot of thanks from us for making this happen and for his under appreciated role in the whole weekend. Such a knowledgeable guy about the platform-- (Kool Kit too) and thanks to Karl, and Brett for their work and the CSC for the venue. Excellent AAR from Fenceline and I can't add much other than to say I've never seen so many Tavor's in one place and really appreciated how everyone just worked to their ability and was fun to be with. I'm one of the old guys with the skinned elbows and still grinning.

    "HET!!!"

    A huge thank you to everyone who came out! This was a fantastic event!

    Thanks to everyone who gave us feedback, we want to make these courses their absolute best, so we appreciate it. Thank you to Norm, Brett, and Carl at CSC for providing us a home to host this class. Thanks to TV-PressPass (Edward) for building the course and putting everything together. It was awesome to get Lovie over to Canada and she loved it (way more than Czech Republic!) But most of all, thanks to all you guys who are Tavor owners and who make this possible. We love the rifle, we love the community, and we're very excited to sit down at Shot Show and plan some more of these! We're excited to share with you our ideas of what we want to keep, change, and add!

    Oh, right on I never knew that.

    No, it is not correct. Not "anyone in Alberta with a PAL". To own a body armour a person requires to apply for a special permit and "must demonstrate a legitimate occupational or personal need and pass a criminal background assessment"

    No, you're not correct. Read the list of exemptions in the link you quoted.

    5. Are some individuals exempted from the Act?
    Yes. Any person or any occupation with a legitimate need for body armour is exempt from the Act. The following persons are exempt while performing duties within the scope of their employment:

    Police officers
    Peace officers
    Ambulance attendants
    Wildlife or conservation officers
    Firefighters
    Individual holding a valid license under the Security Services and Investigators Act (i.e., security guard, investigator, loss prevention worker, bodyguard)
    Individuals holding a valid licence under the Firearms Act (Canada);
    Gaming and Liquor Act inspectors
    Business owners, or employees of a business, who in the ordinary course of that business or employment purchases, sells, transports or otherwise deals with body armour;
    Public officers as defined in section 117.07 of the Criminal Code (Canada);
    Individuals or museums who are collectors of medieval or historical armour or reproductions of medieval or historical armour;
    Manufacturers of reproductions of medieval or historical armour;
    Individuals involved in farming or ranching operations, while engaged in farming or ranching operations;
    Individuals performing in an exhibition, stampede, rodeo, fair or sporting event.
    Whatever

    See what Stevo said. I am correct and actually have read the legislation several times. If you have a pal, you can own body armour in alberta. It is on the list of exceptions to having a body armour permit. A pal acts as a permit.

    The body armour point should be taken elsewhere. It isn't the point of this thread or forum. Let's keep this about the course.

    No. It is per a special body armour permit (in Alberta).

    Step 1. Go back and read the legislation.

    Step 2. Read the part which speaks about the exceptions to getting a permit. One of them says a pal is exception to having a permit.

    Step 3. Realize that the exception means you don't have to apply for a permit, which means you don't need to show a reason to need a permit because you won't be applying for a permit because you have a pal already.

    Step 4. If you still don't get it start a different thread and keep this one on topic. The topic being the course.
