To all,

Just a reminder that tonight is our 7th annual military fundraiser: The Scotch and Shoot

We close at 3pm for set-up to the public and will not re-open until Thursday, November 12th.

It is a unique night of special shooting, fine spirits, awesome food and Cuban cigar smoking'. Definitely a fun time for all.

We typically raise between $12k and $18k for various military charities on this night.

Remembrance Day is NOT a holiday. It is a day of Remembrance.

I know he was fondly remembered by a lot of UNB grads (my late dad among them) for making their transition from serving overseas to university freshman as easy as possible.

We had more than 100 people come out, and our estimated total is $15000 raised.

So is the shooting going on before or after alcohol consumption?

The procedure is: The guest come in, get briefed and take a bunch of tickets to various ranges to shoot a variety of firearms they chose. Once they are finished shooting, both wrists are stamped and then they can consume alcohol. Don't worry, it is very controlled. Plus given the ticket price is $300, we are very much pre-qualifying our guests.

I will pay much closer attention to the postings next year. I would definitely be down for this kind of event. This year I was out of town for work.

It went very smoothly and from the feedback, was enjoyed. When you see the invite posted, do not hesitate too long as this event always sells out quickly.
