    Cadex for Tikka T3

I have a few questions about the Cadex Field OT for Tikka T3.

    1. Does the Cadex Field OT come with a built in recoil lug, or do you have to insert the factory lug?
    2. Do the new Magpul AICS mags work with the chassis?
    3. Required ring height for a 56 mm objective (Nightforce SHV) using a CTR/Tactical top rail?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes the chassis will come with a recoil lug to fit the Tikka T3 action.

It depends on the caliber. Short action AICS magazines for calibers like 22-250 Rem, 243 Win, 7mm-08, 308 Win could work. However the long action magazines cannot be fitted into our chassis. For the long action calibers only the factory plastic magazines could work.

It's impossible for me to determine this as I do not have the scope measurements neither the rail measurements. My guess would be a minimum of 1.500" height ring.

If you have more questions please send them to patrice@cadexinc.com so that I could reply with documents as on CGN I can't send files.

That is good information to know. Thank You.

Over the Christmas holidays I will assemble a Remington 700 into a CADEX OT Core chassis (Bare Bones).

I am not certain the components I have will fit the OT Core chassis.
    - The scope rail is a 20 MOA made by Richard Near.
    - The rings are a SPUHR 3001 which is 0 MOA but has a mounting height of only 1.18 inches.
    - The scope I hope to use has a 44mm bell.

I think it will be very close if not a interference at the scope bell. Based on your example I would have:
1.18 inches + (56mm -44mm /2) = about 1.43 inches above the scope rail minus any loss from the 20 MOA rail.

I had also planned to use a Magpul PRS stock I have. I will have to see how the scope / stock / eye relief arrangement works out.

Worst case means I will have to use a higher ring arrangement and the SPUHR gets used on something else.

    Cheers!
    B

Well I bought a Cadex OT chassis for my Tikka T3 CTR. Learned a couple things. 1.5" rings are a must for my 56mm obj scope, and Magpul AICS mags do not work. The lips are too wide. I'll be grinding them down, and try to make the one mag I bought work. The accurate mags work perfectly though! Overall, very pleased.

Seems to work OK: 100 meters, 5 rds of 168 gr Remington Match, - 10 C.

For those that plan on using the Magpul AICS mags with the Tikka T3, I was able to modify the mag and they now work fine. I had to thin out the base of the lips and adjust the retention protrusion on the spine about 1 mm. A few minutes with a flat file did the trick.
