Belts themselves are either of a pre-1946 design, or not.

Belts (metallic or fabric) that are "not a reproduction and was originally designed or manufactured for the purpose of feeding rounds into an automatic firearm of a type that was in existence before 1945" are unlimited.

Belts that are reproduction, or of design made 1945 or later are limited to 5 rounds.

The M249S aren't on FN USA approved Canadian sales list, so you don't have to worry about it.

The FN guy said the classics are the same spec as the military guns, other than the obvious semi auto thing and the pinned muzzle device.

The military SAW fires from an open bolt, as do many FA.
The Civvy semi fires fires from a closed bolt, as required by BATFE.

Aside from that, it is a pretty good copy.

For those not at Media Day, I'll mention that to promote the semi release, they had a full there also.
So we got to fire a 20 round belt thru the semi first, then another 20 thru the full auto.
    Too empty too soon!

5 round belt limit? This is beyond retarded. A criminal wouldnt even need to remove a pin. What's tbe purpose of that law?
