They are not overly pricy, around 2500 to 3000 USD each for the long guns.

I will show my support for the 200th anniversary by continuing to only by Remington (when possible). Don't get me wrong if I had the money for such a piece I would. Aside from the quality and history behind them, part of the reason I like Remington so much is the fact that they aren't shiny and pretty. To those of you with the money, I hope you manage to get your hands on one! Nice little piece of history to have in the family.

There is also an "unlimited" commemorative edition. These come with the 200th year anniversary grip for the R1 1911 and medallion for the long guns.

To my eye those things are hideous... way over done, with that brassy gold embellishment, the same you can see on any "potato-sack race" trophy. I like fleur-de-lis checkering, but again, they over did it... not a tasteful job, IMO.

Very pretty guns, designed for collectors. Not for a guy like me, I couldn't resist shooting, and taking them hunting.

remington have a lot of quality issues at the low end, but thats the cost of low costs. remington has a nice lineup all across the spectrum. they make great stuff when they want to. if i had the cash, id get a custom shop 700 from them.
