    Provincial CFO Contact Information

On my hunt for the Quebec CFO's direct phone number I came across a lot of people also looking for it and other provincial CFO phone numbers. They removed the phone numbers and only left the fax numbers on the CFP website presumably because they were fed up of being called.

Here's the list I found from an old post on this website. Hope this helps others, cheers.

And if any of that information is outdated, you can find it online here:

Yes, I see that now. You just need to call the main number (1 800-731-4000) then enter the extension for your province (for example, NB is ext. 6000). If you don't know what extension your province is, ask whomever answers at the main number. That is how I found the ext for NB when I wanted to call the CFO.

Little more than a year ago Nova Scotia stopped answering directly, switched to taking messages. I think it's likely most CFO offices have done so (who knows a Province that still answers the phone?).

It hasn't delayed service very much; if you call for an ATT just leave your name and number, say you're moving or something and need an Authorization, they will call back the same day and fill in the details. If you have something less important or time sensitive, general inquiries and so on, it's probably the next day. Still would be nice to get direct service from the bureaucracy that is set up specifically to serve our small portion of the population!

The cynic in me says this is set up as a way to extend waiting times and delay, if they so choose. Now they get to assign one person to message duty all day, watching the phone ring but not touching it, then wait a good ten minutes and listen to the message, write down the details, decide who to transfer it to, and then *they* get to sit on it some more. Now they get to justify their budget, ‘Look we're so swamped with calls we had to assign a message secretary just to handle it!’ Then on Tuesdays they choose it's Answer Stupid Questions Day and they call back all the people who want to know if their urban basement gun rooms qualify as S.29 Approved Ranges. And they close early that day just because.

    Ah, government…

    They seldom return calls either..
I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good, either.
