Folding Precision Hunter
we posted these pics in a thead in the same forum but thought we would entertain comments and gauge interest in a project such as this one.
It is a 300 Norma on a 21" barrel in a Manners Folder on a Surgeon 1581 XL action and DBM.

And the weight of the pictured rifle is?

Personally I rather have the vertical height on my pack (ie. Normal rifle stock) vs increased depth of the pack because of a folded stock....but that's just me.
Btw. Nice work coming outta your shop

12lbs as it sits...Fairly light when it comes to a 2000 yard capable unit though
And thanks Bird Blaster for the compliment...appreciate it

I am not a fan of folding stocks but I can understand why others would want one. It looks like you built a nice rig. It's too bad that the folding part doesn't come around to the bolt handle side. I think for packing it would be nice if the stock and bolt were on the same side so that it doesn't dig into your back.

If one never folds it you would never know it even was a folder...they lock up like a bank vault dude but so handy to have it smaller when ya need it to. I would never want a folder on a cheaper style stock cause they are crappy and very lose. These are every bit as solid as a none folder. Handle one when ya can and see what ya think

Wow! I wouldn't mind a folder that weighs less than my Coyote.

Especially one that is able to stretch out to 2000 yards

Interesting. The chambering, the stock, the barrel length. Very interesting, indeed. With the shorter case as compared to the .300WM, it might feed 220gr (or heavier) rounds from the magazine without eating up case capacity. I'm seriously considering this for a precision rig.
