Manurhin MR88 Revolvers in 357 Mag Now In Stock

I read somewhere online that the MR88 SX was available either left or right handed. Is this correct? If so, which do you have in stock? (I assume they are referring to target grips with a thumb rest)

edit

Also, Is it true that the MR88 is a result of a collaboration with Ruger and is based on the Security Six frame?

Looks like a Ruger security six with a side plate

Very cool. Good to see something different making it to the NA market. Any MR73s on the horizon?

Yes it is. It looks like a Security Six/GP100 but the complete revolver is made in France with their steel and know how. Manurhin went with the Ruger design to cut production cost as the MR73 is nearly twice the price of the MR88 to manuf.

Hello TradeEx.....

Could you perhaps give us a little more information or background on this gun? I'm having trouble finding much online that isn't in French. How does it differ from the 73? Would it be fair to say this is Manurhin's entry level gun? (sort of like how the Boxster is an entry level Porche :d )

Any chance of a MR73?

:p

A while ago a company down in the US brought in a bunch of police issue MR73. Sold for $500 a piece. Maybe someday we'll see something like that here too.

Very Nice! Is that the one TradeEx had a couple of months ago? I nearly clicked "add to cart" several times but the timing was wrong.

Is the empty cut out for a spare cylinder? I read somewhere that some of the MR73's came with a 9mm cylinder.

Are Manurhin revolvers in the same class as the Colt Python?

That's hard to say. From what little I know I'd say those two guns have different personalities. Manurhins are extremely well made, very reliable and very strong but some would say perhaps not as elegant or finely finished as a Python.

Maybe think high end Mercedes AMG vs one of the Italian luxury cars?

The 73 seem to have been replaced by the 88 for economical reasons, the do recieve the same in house treatment for excellency, according to readings.... JP.

Manurhins are definitely stronger than Pythons. Lots of info on this available. http://larvatus.livejournal.com/314242.html

They still make the MR73 I think. The MR 88 not a replacement, it is definitely the 'budget' model - but I bet it is still a pretty nice gun. I would take it over the ruger equivalent for sure.

Yes they still make the MR73. It's nearly twice the cost of the MR88 tho. Price in CAD should be right around $3500

Yes that is probably about right, but who knows with the exchange. Could be more I suppose. Used, ones in good shape have been going for $2500-3000. I did sooner pay that for the MR73 than a python. Bigger problem is availability. I hear there is an 18 month backlog in production.
