    You can get good examples with matching holsters for the 3 to 4 hundred dollar range with matching mags and all markings intact yet people willing to pay 3 times the price

    Never seen an AC or a BYF go for under 800. Especially if they're in good shape.
    CYQ marked P38's go for around the price you posted, and post war P1's are cheaper than both.
    The picture Dlask posted was a Walther factory made AC in very good condition. I'd be impressed if it were even $800 and I'd buy it in a snap

    Just going by past retail on P38s and current prices I've seen.

    A very nice BYF sold for $650 on the EE about a month ago, so they do come up at reasonable prices from time to time. It did sell quickly though.
