We're not sure what they've sold for in the past, this is the first time we've had one in our store. We've noticed the Tan version advertised at other dealers though for $2500-$2600.

We have been informed by North Sylva that the commercial versions are designed so that none of the internals interchange between the Mil-Spec and Commercial versions. The trigger groups are different and the barrels are different. If you want to switch the commercial version to left hand, you can't just drop a left hand bolt in it like you can with the Mil-Spec. It will have to be headspaced by a gunsmith. Either that, or buy a matching barrel and bolt kit like the ones they have in the US. We're also told the commercial version won't have the detachable flip up sights included with it, and that the price isn't expected to drop on them.

The Tavor you bought will be Mil-Spec. There are no commercial versions in Canada yet that we are aware of.

Thanks for the response, glad to know I got in on the original Canadian issue. Unless it becomes an issue in the future to get parts for it.

    Good to know, thanks!

Tavor's now available without the detachable second set of flip-up sights or sling at a discounted price. $2399.99 Perfect for anyone who is just going to throw a scope or electronic sight on anyway. Rifle still includes built in flip-up sights.
