You figure there will be that many police officers going after an 858?

    Important question:

Are these rifles included on the list of recently prohibited CZ 58 rifles?
The ones which have a temporary amnesty, which is effectively pointless since you can't actually use those rifles under the amnesty.

Were these new imports ever prohibited? Does any one have any documentation on which CZ / VZ rifles ARE prohibited and which ones ARE NOT?

    Thanks!

So, I hadn't kept much interest in AK-47s and anything else looking like them.

But ... Sweet memories of training in mud with the gas mask on until I felt like breathing in the rubber itself. Taking a cold shower (hot water was a luxury) afterwards with Arabella; only water pressure inside the barrel, the action, the gas tube was able to get the clay/grass/pebbles/cow manure out of her. Practicing the Honour Guard (they got me into that too) gun handling until those white gloves got totally soaked with sweat. Opening with the bayonet the letter that told me I had just been dumped for a guy who "arranged" to be "medically unfit" for military service.

So ... I want one of those CZ 858 now! (and yes, I'll name her ... Arabella)
Good one, your last paragraph made me laugh! I wish you good luck next Sunday!

the cz858 is no longer a prohib platform. All models will fall under either restricted or non restricted based on barrel length. All previous rcmp shenanigans with regards to the cz858 have been successfully reversed by the previous Conservative government. Hense why customs has released this final shipment of 858s to their rightful and legal owner, Wolverine supplies.

So what is the hype about this rifle? I was looking at one on youtube last night and couldn't figure out the "specialness" (not sure if that is a word but it works here) about it. Can someone explain.
Fyi don't worry I am not interested I just bought a Kel Tec Sub 2000 and the wife would chase me around the house if I bought another gun.

    - mag fed
    - semi auto
    - non restricted
    - popular caliber (7.62x39)
    - plentiful magazines that are reasonably priced
    - regarded as generally more reliable and dependable than the mythical ak47
    - actual military surplus/spec (as opposed to the vz58 which is new build and some would say quite finicky)
    - prolific aftermarket meaning it is very customizable

and I personally think they look sick. but that's just me
