I wish I had a Ruger 10/22 Take down Rifle to try.
I think this has been confirmed elsewhere. I want a Charger barrel but no interest in the whole gun. Someone needs to bring in or manufacture short barrels.

Not just barrels. Barrels complete with forends would be awesome.

You could reconfigure your rifle in seconds.
And I think it might be still long enough (over 26 inches) to remain non-restricted throughout the swap.

Sorry, yes the complete barrel assembly is what I meant. And yes, would be over 26". My receiver in the factory stock is about 19" so 10" Charger barrel would put you around 29" leaving room to go to a slightly shorter stock if desired (I'm still looking for the right replacement stock for mine).

The Charger has nothing to do with it. Our stupid gun laws made by stupid politicians voted in by stupid people letting the RCMP do these things is what is to blame. Once again just like before gun owners throwing other gun owners under the bus cause they don't like what you have.
If we don't somehow put this bull crap behind and pull together we will be lucky to have muskets.

Yes... and no. I've been busy pimping out my takedown rifle for a while now, and had problems finding a shorter barrel. Ended up ordering a charger takedown barrel from the USA, swapped out the takedown block (not included on my new barrel) and it goes on easy, but with lots of play between the barrel and receiver. Made adjustments to the adjustment nut, and still excessive play. I went back to the factory barrel, and still had play (although less than with charger barrel.)

Today my rifle has been at ruger's warranty shop for over a month with at least 6 weeks still to go! (Ruger told me yesterday they believe the factory barrel is to blame and have ordered me a new one. Despite that fact that last time we spoke, they told me they'd be replacing the receiver!!!)

I'm sure they will fit. When I finally get a rifle that's in spec, I'll confirm that. Until then, I have over $1K in sexy ass 10/22 parts that are taunting me. (also, looking for a takedown block and receiver so I can build a new rifle out of my spare parts... ad up on the equip exchange)
