CGN should put this on the front banner. It's time for everyone to get involved , regardless of what firearms they own

I don't agree. It was not a pro pot vote as much as it was "we are tired of Harper" vote. Watch what happens in the next Federal election. The liberals will be lucky to get a minority.

I keep hearing the same arguments from the both sides. However, I have not read any posts that contain statistic on how many gun crimes were commited using legally acquired guns by law abiding citizen directly, or stolen from gun owners.
I think it is important to present this type of statistics to the other side. If there is already such statistic, please pardon me and kindly post it here.

Note that this is 'accused of murder'. Some are ultimately found not guilty. And probably half of the guilty didn't use their firearms for the homicide. So the numbers represent an upper limit, with the actual being less, certainly the way you phrased it.

Toronto Police encountered 715 crime guns in 2010.
And they recovered 71 stolen firearms -- but I'm unsure if all of those recovered firearms are crime guns.
So 10% is the upper limit, with the actual being less.

To make an argument you need
- statistics for the logical mind
- anecdotes for the spiritual mind and politicians gut.
