    My mistake...

    My mistake...

A few weeks ago I ordered some 5" rails for my two MDT LSS Chassis. When they arrived I noticed the slots didn't go all the way from end to end, so the measurements I used to plan for my builds ended up being 1/2" short. I decided to try things anyway as I needed a rail for my forgrip and bipod and had plans for a shooting trip already set. As it turns out one or two missing slots can make a big difference in position, to me, in how the chassis is held and balanced. It felt wrong and off even though it was only 1/2".

At this point I emailed MDT, said that things didn't fit right as the rails slots are to short/few, and that I'd like to exchange them for the longer ones. I'd pay for the difference in price but didn't think I should get stuck with double shipping charges to return the original because it wasn't really 5" long of rail space. (I also included a photo showing what I meant and how it was just short of what I needed.)

Andy Wood, Sales Manger, got back to me the same day, asked for my original order number, and said he'd replace them with the longer ones as soon as I shipped the originals back. I just received the replacements, at NO additional cost to me, including shipping for returned and new packages, after two weeks. (The time it took to send the originals back and then ship the new ones.)

As this was at least in part my mistake for not double checking or asking how long the rail was going first slot to last I greatly appreciated how well this was handled and resolved. Some places would have left me holding the bag. Others would have charged a fee. Andy just fixed the problem without any BS.

MDT made me feel like the $$$$ I've spent at their store matters. I've spent more and gotten less from more than a few others.

Thanks MDT, and Andy!, for making things right and not making it about the money. Looking forward to getting a chassis for my 30-06 when they are ready!
