Alpharms 15 SA Shotgun update 3 May 16.

    Alpharms 15 SA Shotgun

While this shotgun is chambered for 2 ¾ & 3 inch shells and advertised to handle both we have come to the conclusion that in realty using 3 inch shells is hard on the gun. Alpharms will be providing us with a heavier recoil spring for use with 3 inch shells. This heavier spring will be available at no charge in the future. Please watch our web site for updates on availability of the heavy recoil spring.

We recommend that only 2 ¾ inch shells are used with the standard spring as fitted to all new guns.

Whilst we were working on this problem we delaying shipping of our second shipment. These will start moving out today. We apoligise for this inconvience but we wanted to be pro-active rather than retro-active. We have also taken the time to see that all mag springs have been shortened to the correct length of 9 coils which we have found to work the best.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I'm actually kinda curious how these things function with lighter, target loads?

No problems, keep them well lubed and allow a few hundred rds for running in.

What part of the gun is getting damaged with the heavier loads?

It is not so much a question of "damage" your words not mine, it is more a question that the hotter 3 inch rds are accelerating the rate of wear, which we feel can be avoided by using a heavier recoil spring. With the heavier recoil spring the action is slowed and this also improves the feeding of the 3 inch rds.

Should I take from this statement that Wolverine will be sending free spring to all 1st shipment buyers.
