It happens with anything. Technology is the worse. I think what I paid for my first blu ray player and look what they go for now.

Price deflation is often a normal side effect of increasing production and efficiency. Seems like your guys' relationship with UTAS is really working out well.

The light laser unit is separate and can be fitted fairly easily.
