    Just tested it. The super small fibers will light on fire for a second. The actual strands glow red hot but don't ignite.

    After its red hot it just falls apart, not sure how long it would last as a heat shield.

    Tested a bunch of mine out so far.

    Results:

    BB gun - not even 1 layer
    175lb crossbow with field tip - small hole in 6 layers
    22lr from 10/22 - 3 to 5 layers
    7.62 x 39 steel core from Sks - penetrated 138 layers and continued on
    7.62 x 39 steel core from Sks - 3/8" of polycarbonate and 135 layers of Kevlar stopped the round.
    5.56 x 45 62gr tulammo from T97 - penetrated 3/8" polycarbonate and 138 layers of Kevlar and continued on

    I assume each panel has more than one layer, but how many?
