Our shipment has now arrived and we are going through the first few boxes. This kevlar is from the Canadian Government and was used in armored vehicles. There are some holes in the pieces. The holes appear to be for attachment to the vehicles as they seem to clean to by bullet holes. To simplify ordering we will be offering this for the sale by the pound and sold in 3.5 LBS increments @ $6.49 per Pound.

Example, a 16" x 24" piece will weigh 3 LBS and 10 Oz or 1.35 Pounds per Sq Foot of Kevlar.

Each piece is about 1/2 thick which is nearly double that of a level 2 vest.

Some of the pieces are rectangle shaped but not all, there may be some pieces that are triangle, or jagged shaped as these were for use in corners of the vehicles. We are going to be selling these strictly by weight and we will not be able to pick specific dimensions for orders.

This type of product has been very rarely come up for surplus, so it is unlikely that we will see this again for a long time.

We are not sure what the protection rating is on this batch, but please be advised, do not attempt to make a economy vest out of this, leave that up to the experts who produce body armor. If you intend to shoot into these panels at the range, treat them as you would any target you would hang up at the range.

I remember these... they were for additional mine protection.
they had a black cover on them and where you have the holes, we had brass rings.
We had them in our Grizzlys in Bosnia.

Picked up 4 units (about $100) of this kevlar. This is what I got.





It's very heavy stuff, more than twice as thick as a level 2 panel (shown in picture). Panel is an XL 17.5x13. There is about 35 layers of kevlar cloth. I don't have an exact use for the kevlar other than testing some high power reloads.

If it wasn't for the holes, you could probably make something very useful with this material. There are only a few large areas without holes. Easy to make 12x12 pieces but only a few spots to make a 12x18 panel without holes.

Still a lot of material for not much money.
