Can these be used as a heat shield? Like for automotive purposes?
    Is the outer layer flammable?

Kevlar shouldn't be flammable, but I'd test it out first lol.

I did some experiments with Kevlar from a vest I took apart. About 36 layers stopped a very warm hand loaded 178 gr A-Max from a .308 Win at 100 yds. Unfortunately it was about 1" into the wood behind the Kevlar, so probably save your bacon...but maybe not. Sort of like Mongol Warrior Silk Underwear Armor, the arrow doesn't go through you but pulling off the shirt would be a little uncomfortable.

I never have any coin to spare when stuff like this becomes available, bummer.

The old website is on its last breath. The new site will be up in the next day or two. Hopefully smooth sailing from there on.

Mongolians wore silk under their armor because it would not tear, but would rather cut perfectly, leading to much less risk of infection, compared to wool or cotton clothing, as clothing does not get carried into the wound.
