Congratulations to all the participants and the match officials kombayotch for making this first PRS happen. I wasn't there but definitely hope to be there next year!
Let's see some pictures!
Now that we have a bit of breathing room... We would like to thank everyone who came to the match for coming. We hope you enjoyed it and thank you for your patience in getting a large number of shooters and staff up to speed. And thank you to all who went out while stats were being processed to move the targets and stands to the roads. That was a HUGE help!
We want to thank the commander of the 4th Canadian Division Training Center Lt. Col Lillington for allowing this match to happen on the base and to his staff for helping us do things right.
Thank you to the range staff for donating their long weekend and working like slaves from dawn till dust each day to make this match happen. We were presented with some major logistical challenges and a terrain that was full of swamps, shrapnel, and tank ruts that made target placement and repair extremely challenging.
Scott Satterlee has been helping us since before we even had a facility to use. He also lent us his target flashers for the long range stages.
Thank you to Shawn Wiseman, the President of the PRS, for supporting us in bringing the Precision Rifle Series to Canada.
Dan Swadzba not only RO'd and supplied his trailer for rifle movement and his ATV, he also donated most of the lumber used for the barricades and the target stands from his Home Hardware store.
John Ferber provided his trailer for ammo movement and his ATV for target repair. John RO'd the first day, but injured his back and could not continue.
Tylor Thiessen provided his trailer and helped move things to where they needed to be. He is responsible for cutting most of the targets that were used in the match. When we fell short on staff Sunday morning, he switch shirts and helped keep things rolling.
Ken Thiessen receiving all of the sponsor donations and competitor ammo and brought them out the match.
We could not have pulled this off without Ben Jensen letting us use his farm to stage everything for the match ahead of when we had access.
Thank you to Stuart Jagar of the Base Rod and Gun club for getting us competitor letters for people to be able to get their ATTs for their ARs and making it easier for the US shooters to cross the border with their rifles.
Patrick Thompson is not only an awesome photographer, he is a top notch EMT. We were glad he was there to treat the two heat casualties we had on Saturday.
Travis Derouin, thank you for all of your IT support.
Jamel Adams was a tremendous help Sunday morning. He stepped up and led the barracks march out effort to ensure that all of the rooms were left as they needed to be.
Thank you to Rob Furlong for helping fill the gaps in spotters when needed.
Thank you to the experienced PRS shooters who helped sort out our large number of new shooters and help get things back on track.
Thank you to our title sponsor Insite Arms for their awesome support, the rifle they provided for the prize table and little things like the second t-shirt you all received. They jumped on board right from the beginning.
We have been in awe of the generosity or our sponsors. They really stepped up and gave competitors some amazing prizes. We never expected anything like it. Please support them, they've supported us and the competitors big time in this match.
