Iam interested in a 308 but Why would the mags be pinned to 5? could one run 20 round mags with a pump, legally ?
Because the mags are AR15 / AR10 in design. If the rifle had been made with a mag that was unique then it would be unlimited. If I won many millions in the lottery there would be a pump action rifle with a unique mag. I am sure my rifle would fly off the shelves here. Oh to dream.

I believe it is an an AR barrel with no gas port. If so, you could use any AR barrel and block the gas port. Or get a new barrel made.
Might have devastating effects on the warranty though.
Seeing as this rifle would still have to follow SBR laws in the US, and the whole point of the gun is to get into anti gun states, the likelihood of Troy doing short barrels isn't too likely.

Warranty jokes aside the PAR has a 16.1" barrel & 15" rail system that has been machined to accept the PAR pump mechanism, so that now presents several problems in going with a shorter barrels.
