I don't really understand the tactical breaching type tomahawks because I think they would be terrible against anything but tin sheet...clearly this type of hawk is marketed toward someone who has a different idea of "just a neat kind of 'thing' to have on hand" than I do is all?

    Good bush tool...nope.
Good deployment door smasher...probably not. (or not as good as a 12lbs sledgehammer. I don't think a door or wall can be built that a 12lbs sledgehammer can't get through eventually?)
    Cool...absolutely!
Apparently, tomahawks are popular with armed forces overseas for breaching and there are YouTube videos of people cutting through car doors and trunks and breaking padlocks. There was even an article online from the British press crying foul over the "battle axes" being carried by armed forces. A sledge would still be more effective, but much more heavy. Of course, I don't think any of these uses fall under the category of ..... practical lol.

Opened this thread thinking "why the hell would I buy a tomahawk?!?" Now thinking "Why the hell wouldn't I buy a $30 tomahawk!"

Good gift for;Dad,BIL,sons,me,put it in my bug out bag, learn to throw tomahawk, chop up salad, chop up bugs for the chickens, spread butter on my raisin toast, dispatch a deer I hit accidentally with my truck, home defense, bear defense, semaphoreing overhead planes, split kindling and thats just on Saturday! Many many practical uses! I cannot wait for Canam to bring these out, and think they would be a great seller.
