Since the beginning of June 2016 I have not been at work due to a significant operation on my right shoulder. The repair was greater than my surgeon had expected as three of the four tendons that hold my rotator cuff together had been torn off. The surgery was successful however I an in and a sling support that holds my right arm up and away from my body for 6 weeks (24 hours a day). If I am slow to respond to PM's I sorry but trying to catch up. I was on fairly heavy pain medication for a couple of weeks but the pain is getting better and I am hoping to return in mid July. Otherwise everything in the store is going ahead full speed...I don't even know if the miss me that much. Phil.

At least there's some comfort knowing retirements an option without fearing the business will implode. That was my dads biggest worry and what kept him there all these years.

Hope for a speedy recovery!

I had similar surgery in 09 after 6 dislocations throughout the years. nothing sucks more then being in that sling. get well soon and take care

Right shoulder, hopefully when you're all healed up you can still shoot!
Best wishes Sir!

It is the right shoulder and of course I am right handed. I had tried to avoid this operation for quite some time however last summer I found I was unable to hold a shotgun or rifle offhand for any period of time, I realized that I would be sacrificing too much because if I couldn't shoot my guns then what's the point of having them. I have gone under the knife several times as an adult and in fact this was my 12th operation. Phil.

Get well soon Phil.

Pain meds are good!

Don't I know it. After I was shot (armed robbery ten years ago) I developed a long term dependency for Percocet and my cancer operation (prostate) didn't help. About a year ago I went to a pain clinic and was almost off all my pain medication however I required a hernia repair and now this shoulder. I am in a much better state mentally to handle the pain medication and hope to soon get off all of the daily meds I was taking for pain. Phil.

I miss you, man! I know you'd recognize my ugly mug (but not know my name) because you always stop an extra second to ask me how I am doing when I see you in the store.

You take what ever time you need to rest up that shoulder so you can get back to riding that motorcycle of yours (tough go with one arm).

I was in the first day after the shop re-opened, and usually drop in twice a month ever since. I know how much money I've spent with you and it's a lot. Good to hear you are doing better this round with an operation. You have damn good staff but the place isn't the same...
