If I didn't come through, he would have every right to keep the deposit.
    Sure, you say that now.

But if a vendor actually did that; The angry hate threads would flood this forum.

Everyone would be calling them crooks.

I'm on record now - but its moot: I met my obligations and paid it off exactly on the day I said I would.

Glad it worked out in this instance.
But also very glad they aren't allowing it anymore.

So many times I've wanted to buy an interesting gun from Tradex, only to see it sit "on hold" indefinitely.

There was one firearm on hold about a year ago that I looked at every, single day for about six weeks. It eventually sold, but every single day for six weeks there was at least one buyer out there with credit card in hand just itchin'! I bet I wasn't the only one either!

I too am glad this policy is gone. Better for everyone! If you see a gun you want and it isn't sold, you buy it! If you see a gun you want but can't afford it, probably best you don't buy a firearm at this particular time anyways!

Layaway scheme not a bad idea.

Agree to allow layaways with a non-refundable deposit & a due date. But also allow interested parties to add an offer to purchase said firearm to a running list. Post both the due date and the number of people making offers in the firearm description with an understanding that when/if layaway falls apart then firearm is offered to next available person on list at a discount which could be a % of the deposit already paid.

    Could be kind of sweet.
