I though the same thing, but you have to push the upper backwards while you insert the pin. The rear recoil spring needs to be slightly compressed.

Interesting! Could anyone verify that it's just a few holes to drill to finish up the last 20% of that kit? Or where to find instructions? I have no qualms about calling the RCMP afterwards.

There's quite a bit more involved that just drilling a few holes.
There's going to be drilling, and milling work required, to finish the last 20%.
Ideally you need a drill press and a milling machine, but if you're careful, and patient, you can finish it with just a drill press with vice, and some milling bits.
Likely, and this is just my guess, the parts are 'altered' because this may have originally a shipment from, or designed for sale in the US, where altering the sear and hammer, and destroying/tossing the auto sear are required to be in compliance with their laws on building semi-auto versions*
*This is just my guess from reading a couple of articles on them from guys in the states. I may be wrong on this.
Any updates on the blueprints front? Really want to get cracking on this beast.
