Question Discussing the ANS PAL validation policy

Does your company check the CFC for every non-restricted transaction?
Doesn't matter, anymore. We're only good for filling sandbags for floods and saving people during winter storms. Other-wise we're kicking posts and crazies who are over worked, over taxed, underpaid and never truly appreciated.

Scan/photo of pal will drive away sales.

I know it is your house, your rules but we, as a group, are already rule ridden enough.

We validate the customer's PAL card for every transfer, non-restricted or not.

Yeah, it's our policy and we'll stick to it. It's the easiest way for us to validate your card. I totally understand some apprehension toward the policy but it's been the way we do it for as long as we've been shipping guns.

Scan of the pal by email is pretty standard no? Never bought a gun from a business online where that wasn't required.

Wolverine Supplies requires a scan of a PAL, P&D enterprises requires it, SFRC requires it. Just to name a few. Its not a big deal.

That was the consensus in the shop today.

Thanks for the reassurance that we're not doing it wrong out here ;-)

Come on people, There are two ways of doing that. Retailer got your PAL number and call to confirmed or you just simply scan your PAL and let them confirm by them self.

Businesses have access to the CFC website to check the PAL is valid and to see if the name on the card matches the data base.
