Looks too high for a decent cheek weld.
1944 - 18 year old men stormed the beaches of Normandy into almost certain death.
2021 - 18 year old boys need a safe space because words hurt their feelings.
2022 - 18 year old boys aren't sure what bathroom to use.

A little late indeed. Most of these rifles were lost in boating accidents years ago…

It needs to come off to take the rifle down for cleaning. Cannot confirm if it holds zero at all when reattached, never made it that far.

I do recall those rifles that had a mysterious tendency to fall out of boats,,very weird ?
Kinda put the Current stamped rifles sold today too shame.
There was a Sa vz 58 mount (quick detachable) from Israel pretty much the same.
858 ya had to drill a tap it.
And there was also a mag kit to run 10rd Pistol Mags. That required some machining on a mill to fit.
North Eastern Arms railed furniture. Fab defence grips jeesh brings back fond memories!

    No it doesn't.

You just need to move the rear pin and the cover will come off.
