They are unprotected, but you wont ever accidentally drop the mag. Its not setup in any way that you'd ever have a problem with that.
You can accidentally drop the bolt by setting the gun down on its left side though. This is common with many of these 12 gauge semis. However, its not as MUCH of a problem with this one because the forward charging handle raises the gun off the table (or wherever your setting it down) so the bolt release doesnt touch... it only accidentally drops if you set it on something soft or if the forward handle is hanging over the side of the surface. My Derya was awful for this. Every time you set it down the bolt would drop. My MKA 1919 has only done it once.
Almost out of alloy lower versions! Last chance for Christmas!
Well, bit the bullet and got myself a Christmas present.
Couple more questions
1) can the buffer tube be replaced with AR15 buffer tubes to get more than 3 positions?
2) can the safety be replaced with other AR15 safeties as I found the safety too small/thin
3) can the bolt release be replaced as I want to run a BAD lever
Great looking gun, happy to hear mags being released accidentally shouldn't be an issue.
