would appreciate a recipe for xmetal 9mm 125 with CFE pistol powder

    Hey guys

Im a new reloader and ive bought 1000 rounds of xmetal 125 gr.

Made quite a few bullets for target shooting with xmetal 125gr with CFE pistol powder. Took my recipe from Hodgdon's website, which was from 4.9 gr to 5.5 gr max load.
I loaded between 5.1 and 5.2, my rounds were very powerful. No sign of overpressure on the empty casing and primers looked good but i assume my loads were to hot.

I talked to one of my friend at the club and he told me i should reduce my loads by 15%.

Any advices / recipe on this?

    Thanks

The Xmetal bullets usually require less powder then what the Hodgdon site recommends. Example: if Hodgdon says 4.9 to 5.5 you should with 4.1 to 4.6

You can't really say for sure without a chronograph. That said, there is no harm in trying a lower powder charge, so long as it functions properly and is not grossly inaccurate.

Handguns don't really give you much in terms of pressure signs, unless you see some really nasty case bulges like this:
