    That's why there's a range of torque spec for the nut.

    It's not unique to this handguard/nut to have to crank in on to line it up.

    I asked nea if it would help to use some kind of spacer. They said they would not directly advise anyone to do so. But he did not directly tell me not to do it either. Send them an email, they will respond pretty quickly.
    I can't say anything negative about their customer care, seems they are trying to get up to speed with having installation information available. It just didn't sync up with the launch of the product.

    If you buy a '69 'vette in parts, you can't expect GM to send you a builders manual. Either you know what you are doing, figure it out yourself, or pay to get it done, like everything else in life.

    Is a 14.5'' barrel to short for the 14'' Rail ? Would it look weird ?

    Not at all. If anything quite the opposite. All their 7.5 ARs come with 7 inch handguards
