    Club de Tir de L'Outaouais M14 Clinic - 19 Nov 2016 - Cancelled

We are happening in Quebec! Mark that in your calendars!

Here's a picture showing what you can look forward to:

This is another M14 clinic in this great region of Canada and I'm glad to be back in Ottawa area, but on the QC side of things! Yeah you Ontario M14 lovers can cross the river, and yer dicks won't fall off!

If you have a receiver and a barrel to put together, we can make this happen for you at this clinic. I have all the tools. I can even install your .308 Win chambered barrel and then finish ream that chamber (that's a serious upgrade, but also fabulous learning opportunity for newbies to see)

    Where:

    Right here baby: http://www.clubtiroutaouais.com/contact

    Google Map: https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Che...!4d-75.4016732

    When:

    Saturday 19 November 2016

    Cost:

    $ 65 for the day

    Timing:

    Gather for 0830
    Casual Start at 0900
    Ending at 1600

    Registration and Payment:

EMT the $65 to me with this information:

    Name: Tactical Teacher
Question: What was your OLD CGN handle? I was not always tacticalteacher, you know. :D
Answer: hungry (low caps, no spaces) that way I cannot screw things up
Email: hungry556 AT bell DOT net

    What is involved:

    - Tools for tweaking, tools to avoid, tools that are nice to have but expensive, tools that are overrated and too expensive
    - Gadgets that are nice to have, need to have, and useless to have (but I had to buy it to show you)
    - Tools that you can make yourself instead of buying, tools that you can have buddies (owe you favors) make up for you
    - Stripping the boomstick (you will be surprised at what I can show you)
    - YES we will pull your rear sights apart, and then get serious with them
    - Assembling the boomstick, and what to look for so that worthwhile tweaks can be or should be made
    - Tweaks that work, tweaks that don't work, expensive tweaks so yer dick does not fall off
    - Useless tweaks unless you have more money than shooting ability (many stories to follow at the clinic)
    - Common pitfalls, expensive tweaks that work, more ways to ensure that yer dick don't fall off
    - Lunch and then tweaking in the afternoon to tighten up your prized M14
    - Lots of networking and socializing all the time. This is priceless.
    - I am set up to install your .308 Win barrel on your receiver and then FINISH Chamber

Things to bring for Day 1:

    * Your M14 (or two if you got them)
    * Notebook, pens, digital camera, rags,
    * Ball peen hammer, Allen keys SAE and Metric
    * Punches, screwdrivers, more punches
    * Plastic or rubber mallet, wood block or 2 or 3
    * Masking tape, duct tape

And here we are cutting the final 10 thou of the "short chamber" after installing this Krieger Medium barrel back in Fall 2014.

Questions? Post them right here in this forum!

    Cheers,

    Barney

Bring your Garand... I'll bring mine. We can tighten that baby up!
The M14 clinic lends itself to the Garand tweaking!

    Cheers,

    Thanks Barney.
Are we going to get a chance to do any shooting as well?

Barney I would like to reserve three spots for myself and 2 buddies.
Arranging the EMT for all three will take until Friday though.

No hurry because we have lots and lots of spaces. No big rush!

Not sure about test firing for a couple of reasons....

One: We have so much tweaking and learning to do. At the last M14 Clinic in TSE Calgary on Sat 10 Sep, we barely had time to get all the guns back together since we were so busy re-indexing many M14 rifles out in the parking lot

TWO: I will wait for my point man to chime in here....

    Will stay in touch.....

Hi guys, my name is Martin, and i am the contact between Barney and the club (CTO).

To explain a bit the layout of the club, it's a 2 storey building.
Ground level has the shooting range and the pro shop (guns, ammo, restricted etc...). The range has 3 seperate bays, which each have 4 shooting stalls, 25M max range, highest allowed caliber well over 7.62/308.
Second floor has a lounge area, and a few classrooms. There is no elevator access to second floor, so those of you that may have mobility issues please consider this.

Renting a classroom for the day does not give you access to the range and vice versa. As in you can loan a range bay for the day if needed.
So far, i have only reserved the classroom for the day, to try to keep the costs as low as possible and get the people out there.
I did not want to end up renting a range bay, have everyones sign-up fee rise, and not using it, or barely.
Barney might correct me on this, but for having done a good amount of M14 tweaking lately, i doubt there will be even time left for shooting if we end up with 20 to 30 rifles in the classroom (as some people will surely bring 2!).

This said, the range is open to non-members with a (expensive) one day pass access to the range.
If one of you guys have limited range access or no places to shoot, and know you won't shoot the newly tuned gun for a few weeks/months, it might be worth it to try your new tune out, if there is time left and if you are ready to pay. I do not clearly remember how much the 1 day pass is as i am a regular member, somewhere around 45$ if i am correct.

If there are any questions concerning range facilities, directions, or places to eat around here, please don't hesitate to ask!

p.s. English is my second language as i am french. If anyone is hesitating because they have a hard time in english, signup anyways and come sit with me i will make sure you are up to speed with the course! I am only saying this as we are hosting in a french province!
