1 in 9 will stabilize up to 68 grain 223/5.56 very nicely for accurate shooting. Unless you are shooting 77 grain a lot, I am not sure why you would want a 1 in 7 twist? This rifle is not designed for long range precision shooting.

Thats such a nice rifle.
Wish I could afford it!
Youza.
1in9 would be awesome, all of us have already sooooooo many 1in7 barrels
How was the 1 in 9 decided?
Am I correct that the b&t brochures for APC556 and APC223 both show 1 in 7?
Mismatch is the new black
1:7 is the most versatile twist for the majority of .224 bullets on the market today - even the crap-as$ 55 gr. FMJ that shooters insist on pumping through their rifles.
77grain and similar length bullets are not limited to long range precision shooting - that common thinking is only 15 - 20 years out of date.
Baffled @ guys wanting a slower twist so it limits their options on ammo to use in a premium rifle....
It's like being offered a sports car and settling on a little 4 banger engine because if gets the best mileage.
I'm seriously considering one of these - even in the current political and economic environment, but not if it's getting neutered before they land.

if you're going to change the twist rate make it 1:8 I shoot everything from 55-77 gr ammo and that would meet my needs and would work for basically everyone.
but I'm still down for 1:7 if thats easier.
Do you know ETA? q2 2017?

if a person happened to be going through and wanted to handle the prototype, would it be possible?

1:7 is for machine guns. 1:9 is fine or 1:8. Whatever is cheaper
