12 (8) most likely is for "firearm easily convertible to full auto in machine shop with 2 trained machinists working for a month".

Nobody seems to know for sure, however the logical and probable explanation is that it will be used to create a new class to grandfather firearms into. Currently the only option is to prohibit firearms under existing classes which means grandfathering to those licenses. Issuing new licenses to classes like 12(5) would undermine the intent of the current system which serves to eventually eradicate these firearms.

the intent of the current system which serves to eventually eradicate these firearms.
Which is the core of the problem in the first place. The current laws construct an active system of progressive 'genocide' vs firearms and our hobby.

It is either moving forward or paused. You can't deal with or appease something like that. This has to go entirely. You cannot have a process of laws that put
citizens in a state of suspended but eventual criminialization over property and personal activity that harms no one.

Extra problem is that the situation has us fighting small battles all the time and not fighting the the big war that is needed to stop rather than delay the process.

They have it rigged up so we spend most of our time and resources fighting off the process and their attempts to use it to take 'bites' off the hobby that are cynically
calculated to divide and conquer and sow dissent and division over what group gets the hit this time around.

Just trying to understand RCMP lab reasoning here.

cz 858 were prohibited due to the wielding in the receiver made too convert full auto into semi-auto. Yes, the wielding can be undone, but no freaking way anyone can convert them without full-auto sear.

Full auto sears for VZs are $25,000 in USA and nobody there even tries to manufacture them, it requires modern machining equipment and people possessing said equipment don't want to commit federal crime.

So how is RCMP lab supposedly converting them to full-auto without full-auto sears?

    Here is your first mistake.
All of this is not actually control guns, just like the TSA in the US, the intent is to make civilians feel like there is control and safe. Voters who dont feel safe dont vote for the incumbents. Criminals not caring about laws is irrelevant, just like ghost guns illegal sears can be made overseas and as long as they somewhat work, someone will buy them

Well, there is a "lightning link" for Armalite rifles, possessing which is a federal crime, nobody is using them, even cartels. they just buy on black market full autos and don't bother with conversions.

I get all this dis-armament agenda and RCMP's desire to eventually prohibit all firearms. I just not getting this pick and choose games. Although on second thought, bump-firing fit they had in 2015, where they wanted to prohibit SKS and M305 too, points to a simple explanation. I think they are trying to go after cheap rifles to drastically reduce the proliferation of firearms amongst civilians using "ease of conversion to full-auto" argument.

Yeah, their arguments and classifications are pretty much bull####, sorry. Just look at the two recent perfect examples of their BS: The Blaze-47/Blaze idiocy, where a rifle that is non-restricted is somehow magically made prohibited because it has a somewhat similar cosmetic appearance to an AK-47 (although absolutely ZERO mechanical similarity) and the patently illegal "ban" on 25 round mags for the Ruger 10/22 - their own bulletin contradicts itself by including the wording of the regs which very clearly states that magazines which are "designed and manufactured" for use in pistols are limited to 10 rounds. How on God's green earth could a magazine designed and manufactured decades ago possibly be "designed and manufactured" for a pistol that didn't exist until 2008?!

There is absolutely no reason to give any benefit of the doubt to the RCMP brass and their henchmen at the lab anymore. They are blatantly pushing their political agenda of disarming all Canadians.

Having said that, please bear in mind that the Ivory Tower in Ottawa has little to nothing to do with the brave, hard working men and women patrolling the beat on the front line. In fact, in my experience, the majority of frontline LE members in Canada are pro-gun, gun owners, or at the very least realize that these gun control measures are stupid and pointless.
