Hey I was just wondering, if I walk into a Cabelas and purchase a restricted firearm I know I have to proof RPAL but is there a need to be a member of a club?

When it comes to Cabela's, yes you have to be a member of a club. You will have to show your club membership along with all your paperwork, and it will be faxed to the CFO.
I just walked into Cabela's today and purchased my first restricted.
They asked for my RPAL (obviously) and yes they did ask if I was a member at a club. They did not need my club ID or member number. Today being Thursday, they said I should receive a call Monday or Tuesday with my papers approved by CFO. I thought that was a pretty short wait time. We'll see what happens.
The CFO's office will probably send you a letter (yes snail Mail) requesting proof of your Club Membership before they'll authorize the transfer. That's what they did with my first Restricted purchase. You may be able to seed things up by calling them and inquiring about your transfer process and they may ask you to fax the info to them when you talk to them.
Good Luck and enjoy your new toy!
sounds good.
My wife probably says, that I never listen.
