We were recently offered a special buy on a few AR15 that did not have port doors (dust covers) or forward assists. The castings were present but the cover and spring was missing and a filler plug was inserted instead of the actual forward assist. The saving would have resulted in about $65 at retail. We chose not to buy this model due to the small saving for what was missing. Any opinions on this. Phil.

Good choice I think. $65 is not big enough of discount.
It might have appealed to people who were going to upgrade those parts or had extras laying around from previous builds.

Good on you guys! No real savings on those parts as you can get the whole set for about $40 CAD.
